The project

Easy Trail Guide was born from a scene that repeats on any busy trail: someone debuting in the wrong shoes, without enough water, with no turnaround time — and concluding, unfairly, that "hiking isn’t for me." What was missing was almost never fitness: it was plain information, in the right order.

This site is that information. Day hikes, for regular people, without turning a walk into an expedition: a trail sized to your legs, gear you mostly already own, a pace that lasts, a return before the light goes — and the path left the way you found it.

Our principles

A successful first hike above everything. Every guide is designed so the debut goes well — because the first hike decides whether there’s a second.

Safety without drama. Weather, navigation, heat and limits are handled with method and calm, inside the guides, at the exact point where they matter. Turning back is taught as the most mature move in the repertoire — because it is.

Leave-no-trace as a foundation. The way of hiking that keeps trails open and beautiful runs through every guide — and has one dedicated entirely to it.

How the guides are made

Each guide is written from scratch out of real experience on easy trails, tested against the question "does this work for someone who has never hiked?", and revised with a visible date at the top. Park rules and local signage always prevail over any general guidance here — and the guides say so at the points where it matters.

Three languages

The guides are published in English, Portuguese and Spanish — each version written to read naturally in its own language and its readers’ hiking reality, not translated word for word.

Independence

The content is editorial and independent. We receive nothing from brands, parks or apps mentioned; if sponsored content or affiliate links ever appear, they will be clearly identified on the page itself.
